5-Hydroxytryptophan(5-HTP)

5-Hydroxytryptophan or 5-HTP is a naturally occurring amino acid, a precursor to the neurotransmitter serotonin and an intermediate in tryptophan metabolism. It is marketed in the United States and other countries as a dietary supplement for use as an antidepressant, appetite suppressant, and sleep aid. However, according to a 2001 meta-analysis, insufficient high quality research has been done to establish that it is efficacious. The psychoactive action of 5-HTP is thought to derive from its effect on serotonin synthesis in central nervous system tissue. It is believed that an artificially high supply of 5-HTP causes the brain's serotonin-producing neurons to increase production. Increased serotonin production then leads to increased serotonin release. Research shows that co-administration with carbidopa greatly increases plasma 5-HTP levels. However, several studies have reported that 5-HTP is effective even without a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor (e.g. carbidopa).Other studies have indicated the risk of a scleroderma-like condition resulting from the combination of 5-HTP and carbidopa. 5-HTP, which is found in minute amounts in certain foods like cheese and the white meat of poultry,is often sold as an over-the-counter therapeutic supplement. In this case, it is usually sourced from the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia. 5-HTP in supplement form is typically sold in 50 mg or 100 mg gelatin or vegetarian capsules.

Beta Ecdysterone (20-Hydroxyecdysterone) 90%

20-Hydroxyecdysterone (referred to here as ecdysterone) is a member of a family of insect and plant derived steroid hormone, known as ecdysteroids. There are more than 300 known ecdysteroids, but 20-hydroxyecdysterone has been the most extensively researched ecdysteroid that has anabolic properties without the androgenic side effects. Ecdysterone is known to increase wound healing and protein synthesis. Many people have tried ecdysterone orally with little or no results even at very high doses. The reason for this is the same as base testosterone, poor oral absorption, and a very short (11 minute) duration of action. It is proven that ecdysterone is rapidly cleared by the body, which is why it is perfect for transdermal delivery. By using this compound in a transdermal matrix, both of these obstacles are overcome, allowing you to get the maximum anabolic benefit from this compound. The first use of ecdysterone was by Russian Olympians who were vague on how they administered the compound It was wrongly assumed that ecdysterone was take orally, but new research suggests that the Russians injected a synthetic analog of ecdysterone to increase performance. Now, there is no way you would want to inject the 95% pure plant extracts that are currently available, but they are perfect for transdermal delivery, which gives you the benefits that the Russians derived without the danger of injections.

Burdock Root Extract

Burdock Root is one of the foremost cleansing herbs, providing nourishing support for the blood, the liver, and the natural defense system. It's rich in Vitamins B-1, B-6, B-12, and E, plus manganese, copper, iron, zinc, sulfur, and more. You'll find Burdock Root in many tonic formulas and special blends designed for internal cleansing. Official Latin Name: Arctium lappa. Burdock is also known by the names Bardane, Clotburr, Beggars Buttons, Gypsy Rhubarb, Gobo, and Burr. In traditional herbal texts, Burdock Root is described as a "blood purifier" or "alterative" and was believed to clear the bloodstream of toxins. The genus name "Arctium" is from the Greek, arktos, meaning "bear" in reference to the shaggy burrs. "Beurre" is French for "butter" as French women would wrap their cakes of butter in leaves of Burdock to transport it to the marketplace. During the Industrial Revolution, Burdock was used as a medicine to help people cope with the increasing environmental polution. The Swiss inventor, George de Mestral, who invented Velcro was inspired by the Burdock burrs that covered his dog; when he observed the burrs under a magnifying glass, he saw the tiny curved hooks. And in Hawaii, the roots of this herb are sometimes given as a "gag" wedding gift because of their aphrodisiac powers. Medicinally, Burdock Root has been used both internally and externally for eczema and psoriasis, as well as to treat painful joints and as a diuretic. In traditional Chinese medicine, Burdock Root, in combination with

Citrus Aurantium Extract

Synephrine is the main "active" compound found in the fruit of a plant called Citrus aurantium. The fruit is also known as zhi shi (in traditional Chinese medicine), and as green orange, sour orange and bitter orange in other parts of the world. Synephrine is chemically very similar to the ephedrine and pseudo-ephedrine found in many OTC cold/allergy medications and in a number of weight loss and energy supplements which contain Ma Huang. Because synephrine is a stimulant, similar to caffeine and ephedrine, it is thought to have similar effects in terms of providing an energy boost, suppressing appetite and increasing metabolic rate and caloric expenditure. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), zhi shi is used to help stimulate the Qi (energy force). Although synephrine and several other compounds found in zhi shi are structurally similar to ephedrine and are known to act as stimulants (via adrenergic activity), zhi shi does not appear to have the same negative central nervous effects of ma huang (ephedra). Through its stimulation of specific adrenergic receptors (beta-3, but not beta-1, beta-2 or alpha-1), zhi shi is theorized to stimulate fat metabolism without the negative cardiovascular side effects experienced by some people with Ma Huang.

D-Pinitol

Diosgenin, a steroid sapogenin, is the product of hydrolysis by acids, strong bases, or enzymes of saponins, extracted from the tubers of Dioscorea wild yam. The sugar-free (aglycone), diosgenin is used for the commercial synthesis of cortisone, pregnenolone, progesterone, and other steroid products. Diosgenin is the precursor for the semisynthesis of progesterone which in turn was used in early combined oral contraceptive pills. The unmodified steroid has estrogenic activity and can reduce the level of serum cholesterol.

Echinacea Purpure Extract

Echinacea (Echinacea purpura ) is a medicinal herb originally used by North American Plains Indians. In the 1870s, an enterprising Nebraska doctor began touting it as a blood purifier capable of curing everything from headache and rheumatism to syphilis and hemorrhoids. Commonly known as the purple coneflower after the large purple blossom that crowns its three-foot stalk, this member of the daisy family is a popular, though still controversial, herbal remedy today in this country and abroad. Two other varieties of echinacea are also commonly used, Echinacea pallida (narrow-leaf purple coneflower) and Echinacea angustifolia (pale purple coneflower). As yet, nobody knows exactly how echinacea might boost the immune system and keep infections at bay. Unlike a vaccine that protects you from a specific disease, echinacea seems to increase the overall activity of infection-fighting cells. The herb may stimulate white blood cells and lymph cells to attack viruses, bacteria, and abnormal cells. Some research also suggests echinacea gets the body to make more proteins which alert the immune system to defend against bacterial infection.
